Alice's Adventures Underground
‘There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A land full of Wonder, Mystery and Danger' wrote Lewis Carroll. In 2017, we invite you back. Back to this very place...
Fall deep into the Vaults, hidden beneath Waterloo station and lose yourself in a land far removed from our own. But this isn’t Alice's adventure, it's yours...
Returning after a sell-out run in 2015, the critically acclaimed theatre company, Les Enfant Terribles, in collaboration with ebp, bring their Olivier award nominated Alice’s Adventures Underground back in 2017!
'Tumble down the rabbit hole falling fast into Wonderland, wandering through this ‘topsy-turvy world, wide-eyed’ (The Times) with ‘visual and tactile treats embedded everywhere!’ (The Evening Standard).
Make a series of choices; Eat or drink? Grow or shrink? Take tea at the biggest un-birthday party with the maddest of Hatters; let the Cheshire Cat take you hither or thither or join the underground movement to rise against the fearsome Queen of Hearts.
Revel in the ‘Wonderland of your imagination recreated before your eyes’ (The Guardian) finding yourself at the centre of the story piecing together the puzzle searching for Alice who has been lost in the looking glass.
‘The perfect remedy for grown-ups who have forgotten what it is to play’ - The Observer
If you are already a Wonderlander, be prepared for new surprises and if you’re yet to be greeted by the White Rabbit, come and experience ‘real magic and wonder’ - The Stage
Don’t be late! Logic will fail you. Nonsense will overwhelm you!

Great sets and actors and can go numerous times as will have a different experience of multiple rooms/sets/actors. Only grip is that the tea and food to taste i didn't know if it was veggie and teetotal - as people mentioned it had an alcoholic taste so i avoided this part of the experience - which is rather a nice part to have been able to participate in. Would definitely recommend and would probably go again next time it is on. We went when on offer at £30 which was well worth the 1.5hr experience.

Like walking into a dream
21 April 2017
By far the best theatre experience I've ever had! It had the dream like, surreal feeling of a festival but even more accentuated and bought to life by the stunning set (the more you look the more you see, there's not a detail missed) and the great actors. You genuinely feel like you've got lost in wonderland and I was in no hurry to leave!

Great artistic experience of fascism
21 April 2017
The play was very well acted and the sets and costumes were absolutely beautiful and amazing. You get to truly walk into a fantasy world. The only thing that disappointed me was that you are not free to explore. You make one choice and then are railroaded through the rest. However, as the play explores the theme of living under the fascist regime of the Queen of Hearts, the lack of freedom has artistic merit. I did think it all was a bit rushed as well. Perhaps the shows are a bit too close together. However overall I still think it's very much worth a visit.

My expectations were exceeded again and again and again. The detail in the sets and costumes was mind-boggling, the cast were so skilled and made me laugh a lot. Each scene was so inventive and well performed. I felt like I had been whisked to another world, when I found a little reminder in my pocket today it really did feel like magic. Well done Les Enfants!

Fabulous and different

Not so much a play as a series of live circus like performances, all performed with great enthusiasm and joy. I have honestly never been to anything like it before and thoroughly recommend it as a most entertaining evening out. Pick DRINK ME and then SPADES for the best evening ! Every suit gets to see different things. The Mad Hatter was a truly exceptional actress in the part. I loved the tricks at the Tea Party.
