Julius Caesar

Harriet Walter leads an all-female cast in a thrilling trilogy of Shakespeare plays directed by Phyllida Lloyd – an event four years in the making. Opening with The Tempest, Harriet plays the lead role of Prospero in Shakespeare’s epic evocation of the consequence of confinement and the eternal struggle for liberation and justice.

In 2012, JULIUS CAESAR opened to great acclaim at the Donmar, later transferring to New York. Two years later, the revelatory staging of HENRY IV once again ignited a vital dialogue on both sides of the Atlantic. Now, these two extraordinary productions are joined by THE TEMPEST in a remarkable trilogy, set in a women’s prison, at a new 420-seat in-the-round temporary theatre at King’s Cross.

The SHAKESPEARE TRILOGY is set to be one of the year’s theatrical highlights. Its 13-week repertory season runs from 23 September - 17 December 2016.

Good To Know

Unfortunately there is not a cloakroom on site, and audience members will need to keep all belongings with them at all times, storing them underneath their seat if necessary. For this reason very large bags or suitcases will not be permitted. There is an unattended ‘Buggy Park’, where audience members can leave push-chairs and strollers.

Please note that filming and photography are not permitted inside the auditorium.
