The 39 Steps

John Buchan's The 39 Steps (memorably filmed by Alfred Hitchcock in 1935) is brilliantly, and hilariously adapted for the stage at London's Criterion Theatre, picking up the Olivier Award for Best New Comedy in the process.

This blissfully funny show follows the incredible adventures of our handsome hero Richard Hannay, complete with stiff-upper-lip, British gung-ho, and pencil moustache; he encounters dastardly murders, double-crossing secret agents, and, of course, devastatingly beautiful women.

The 39 Steps London is performed by four actors playing a minimum of 150 roles and contains every single legendary scene from the award-winning movie including the chase on the Flying Scotsman, the escape on the Forth Bridge, the first theatrical bi-plane crash ever staged and the sensational death-defying finale in the London Palladium; besides many other favourite cinematic moments. Not forgetting the memorable and controversial stockings and suspenders scene!
The 39 Steps is a huge success and is a must for anyone looking for a hilarious, action-packed night at the theatre.
